During the second wave of Covid-19, the film industry has come to a standstill and all kinds of shootings came to a halt long before. However, the makers of Bigg Boss Malayalam continued to air the show on TV, without suspending the shoot.
On Wednesday, the sets of Bigg Boss Malayalam at EVP film city in Chennai was sealed after eight of its team tested positive for Covid-19.
Revenue officials, along with the police, locked the premises and sealed it by vacating all contestants and the BB staff.
As per reports, a special set was built, and the shooting started with 14 contestants. It continued for the 95th day with seven contestants on Wednesday. A case was booked under the Tamil Nadu Disaster Management Act for violation of government guidelines.
However, the channel has explained that the show will proceed once the situation gets better. The official press note reads, “Bigg Boss Malayalam 3 is temporarily suspended due to the rising COVID-19 cases and lockdown in Tamil Nadu. The show will be restarted soon, the crisis is over.”
