The BJP has launched a Modi-for-PM fund – a collection drive in which the party aims to get donations from about 10 crore households for the election campaign of its prime ministerial candidate. Sources say that the party aims to collect over Rs.250 crore from public for the historic battle of votes in 2014.
The flurry of poll-related activity today is a prelude to a three-day meet of the BJP’s national executive beginning Friday. Rajnath Singh was in Hyderabad during last week end to participate in a high voltage meet of the RSS to earn its support for the 2014 polls.
Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party had raised Rs.19 crore for the Delhi elections while the Congress party had declared a kitty of Rs 35 crore and the BJP of 24 crores. For the 2014 general elections, the fund raising has commenced in all parties.
