The opposition Congress party, which has been fighting against the skyrocketing prices of fuels in the country has targeted the Bollywood Superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar.
Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole has found fault with the Superstar dup who has raised their voices when the fuel prices were increased during the Congress regime.
The MPCC President questioned, why these stars are not raising their voices when the fule prices are inching towards the century mark in the country. He has also threatened that the films of the stars would not be released in Maharashtra.
“When there was Manmohan Singh government at the Centre, these Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar used to tweet about how the prices of petrol and diesel have increased in the country by Rs 25-30. But today, when the Narendra Modi government is hurting people with all-time high petrol and diesel prices despite low crude oil rate in international markets, these stars aren’t saying anything,” Nana Patole said.
The BJP has defended the Bollywood actors in this regard and said these Superstars are the respected personalities and questioned if tweeting in favour of the nation is a crime?
BJP leader Ram Kadam in his tweet has claimed that the international elements are hatching a conspiracy against the government and the opposition Congress party is supporting these elements.
Earlier, the Maharashtra government has slammed the Bollywood celebrities for supporting the government over the farm bills row and said, it will probe into these tweets.
