Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Telangana government has imposed a 10-day lockdown in the state, starting from Wednesday (May 12).
The government has decided this in a Cabinet meeting that held today to take a call whether the state should impose a lockdown to contain the virus spread.
The state is currently observing a night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am until May 15. During the period of implementation of the lockdown, all commercial activities shall close at 10 am and re-open after 6 am except hospitals and those dealing with the supply of specified essential services.
As per reports, the Cabinet decided that all activities would be allowed every day from 6 am to 10 am. It has also been decided to call for global tenders for the purchase of the vaccine. More details regarding the guidelines to be followed are awaited.
