In what can be called as a sensational political decision, Bihar CM & JDU leader Nithish Kumar has stepped down as Chief Minister of Bihar some time back. Breaking the Mahagathbandhan alliance(RJD-JDU), Nithish quits as CM and his party now likely to seek external support from their old ally BJP to lead government in state.
The decision was followed by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s attack on Nithish at a press-meet this evening wherein he slammed CM for asking his son Tejaswi Yadav to explain the corruption allegations against him. ‘Even Nithish was charged of murder but we were silent on him and we never created hurdles for government,’ said Lalu Prasad.
This brave move by Nithish Kumar was hailed by Prime Minister Narendra and also state BJP leader Sushil Modi welcomed the Nitish’s move and extended BJP’s support for JDU & Nithish Kumar. PM Modi took to Twitter and congratulated him by calling it a ‘daring step against corruption’.
But, when media sought Lalu Prasad’s response to Nithish’s resignation, the former union minister for Railways said- ‘Nitish knew very well that he will not be able to save himself in the murder case that’s why he played the resignation drama.’
