Megastar Chiranjeevi is getting ready to star in his 150th film, which is going to be official remake of Tamil super hit Kaththi that featured Vijay and directed by AR Murugadoss. Veteran writers Paruchuri brothers are making few changes to the script for the Telugu version to be directed by VV Vinayak.
Chiranjeevi will reportedly play dual roles- one as a communist ideologue and a post-graduate in hydrology, and writers are still working on other character. Actually, in Tamil version, Vijay played a thief in other role. However, we reliably learnt that, Chiranjeevi asked his writers to change the portions of thief, as the role will not suit of his age.
Although Chiranjeevi wanted his 150th film to be wholesome entertainer, he picked Kaththi remake since he liked the subject where protagonist fights against a MNC that cheats villagers into giving their lands for the construction of a factory.
Recently, a writer named Narasimha Rao has accused the makers of Kaththi of stealing his story and not giving him due credit. The writer filed complaints with different writers’ associations, requesting the organizations to stop the makers from starting the Telugu version shooting till the issue is solved.
Nevertheless, neither Murugadoss nor the Telugu makers are taking the issue as serious. The yet to be titled movie to be produced by Ram Charan is likely to start rolling from March.
