When Chandrasekhar Yeleti pitched Manamantha’s script to Venkatesh, the Daggubati star, even though was impressed with it, took forever to decide whether to act in the film or not. Years passed by and Yeleti started looking for other options.However, Yeleti couldn’t find a competent senior actor who could play the middle-class man’s role which has been played impressively by Malayali star Mohanlal. The fact that no Tollywood star was ready to don Mohanlal’s role drew severe criticism.
This made everyone to look towards Megastar’s Chiranjeevi and wonder if Chiru would ever act in such movies. Megastar, even though has a huge mass image, already acted in artistic films such as Aapadbhandavudu, Rudraveena and Swayamkrushi etc and showcased his acting prowess.
Chiru is now making his comeback to silver screen with VV Vinayak’s film and this time, he should not worry much about his star status, his heroines, dances and fights and instead act in meaningful films and characters that will enhance his reputation as a real actor that he once was.
