The coordination committee of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee headed by former minister N Raghuveera Reddy met on Thursday to discuss ways and means to rejuvenate the party cadres in residuary AP, who were completely demoralized after the “zero” performance in the last Assembly elections.
The meeting, chaired by AICC in-charge of AP affairs Digvijay Singh, was attended by very few leaders including K V P Ramachandra Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana, C Ramachandraiah, Killi Krupa Rani, J D Seelam, Panabaka Lakshmi, Koppula Raju and M M Pallam Raju.
However, those who were conspicuous by absence at the meeting were former union ministers K Chiranjeevi, K Sai Pratap, Anam Ram Narayan Reddy and Y Kishore Chandra Deo. The absence of these leaders has lent credence to the rumours that they might be looking towards other parties.
There is a talk that the top BJP leadership is in touch with Chiranjeevi and is trying to rope him into the party. Even his brother Pawan Kalyan is said to be playing the behind the screen role for the same. Similarly, Sai Pratap and Kishore Chandra Deo are also keen on joining the BJP, while Anam is looking towards the TDP.
