Courting a major controversy on the burning issue of Special Category Status to AP, Union Minister Sujana Chowdary made sensational remarks as he not just ruled out the chances of declaring status but advised protesters to ‘go and play cockfights, pigfights’ instead of they get inspired from Jallikattu sport.

“Equating Special Status with Jallikattu sport is nonsense. If they get inspired from Jallikattu, let them go and play cockfights, pigfights,” Sujana was quoted as saying.

Sujana further questioned that one should come out and openly say under what rule, under what section injustice is meted out to AP and said only then he would answer. He said, ” If injustice is being done to AP, why will Chandrababu remain a silent witness?” Sujana added that Naidu won’t compromise when it comes to the state’s welfare.

As people voluntarily set to do a silent protest for Special Status in Vizag and elsewhere in AP on Jan 26th, Sujana’s comments seem to be provoking.

Meanwhile, leaders like Pawan Kalyan, Jayaprakash Narayan and Opposition leader YS Jagan have supported silent peaceful protest demanding Special Status.

It can be noted that former PM Manmohan Singh had announced in Parliament to accord Special Category Status to AP during the bifurcation of the state.
