Tollywood is now flourishing with Biopics of legends in cinema, sports, and politics.
While Mahanati was a huge success at the box-office, Krish Jagarlamudi is currently helming ‘NTR’, the biopic on former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and founder of Telugu Desam Party. Balakrishna is essaying the lead role.
The makers intend to release this project in two segments and the first part which is NTR-Kathanayakudu tells about NTR’s film career.
The second part is all about NTR’s political entry and his life as a Chief Minister. Both parts have been planned for a January release within a gap of 15-days.
On the other hand, Mahi V Raghav of Anando Brahma fame is directing Yatra, a biopic on YSR which focuses exclusively on the late YSR’s famous Padayatra which catapulted the Congress to power.
Yatra is currently in post-production phase and the movie was originally scheduled for a release in December.
Apparently, there has been a change of plan and the makers of Yatra have now decided to pit their film against NTR-Mahanayakudu.
This means Yatra will release on the same day as NTR-Mahanayakudu whenever the latter announces the release day.
Thus, the political battles are extending to the silver screens as well.
