Amid fears of a new Coronavirus strain in the United Kingdom, Indians who returned from Britain is raising many fears about the rapid spread of the respiratory disease.As the latest development, 14 people from Karnataka and eight people from Kerala, who returned from the United Kingdom have reportedly tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
The health authorities in the respective states have sent their samples to the National Institute Of Virology for further testing and the test reports are awaited.However, it is still unknown, whether the infected people have contacted the old Coronavirus or the new strain of the virus. We will get the answer, once the lab reports from the Virology institute comes.
Looking at the scenario in Karnataka, the State Health and Family Welfare Minister K Sudhakar said all the 2500 returnees have been tested for the pandemic and 14 of them have tested positive.We are hoping that the lab reports from the Pune Virology institute will come within 48 hours. After the reports come, we will take the appropriate measures to curb the respiratory disease, the Minister said.
Coming to God’s own country Kerala, eight people have tested positive for the pandemic, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja has confirmed the news and said they are waiting for the lab reports to come,
After the news of the new Covid-19 strain started, Indian has suspended the flight services through and fro to the United Kingdom till the 31st of December from 23. However, before the flight suspending, huge numbers of passengers have returned from the UK. The authorities are busy tracing them.
