Finally, the notification to bifurcate High court between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has been by President Sri Ram Nath Kovind.
Considering that ‘Justice City’, a temporary High Court, is in final stages of construction, the president notified April 7 as the appointed date for High Court of Andhra Pradesh in Amaravati. Ever since the United Andhra is separated, the lawyers of Telangana have been fighting for bifurcation of High Court as well. But, the centre clarified, “Operations of High Court will begin in AP after the construction of new block in Amaravati.”
Few days ago, the sharing of staff and lawyers is finished among both the states after continuous demand from both the state lawyers.
The Justice City, that is under construction in Nelapadu village, was planned to be finished by this year end. Recently, the high court chief justice and other lawyers visited Justice City and offered a positive report to Supreme Court. As soon as the construction work of High Court is finished by December end, the shifting process will begin post Sankranti-2019.
Officially, the Andhra Pradesh High Court will start its operations from April 7, 2019 (Ugadi).
