Dil Raju makes a sizeable profit with V

Nani’s ‘V’ got off to a rather poor word of mouth as the action thriller was criticised for its poor screenplay and beaten to death storyline. The producer of the film Dil Raju had sold the direct to digital rights of V to Amazon Prime for a fancy price and it proved to be a wise move.

Apparently, Amazon Prime Video paid Rs 31 crores for the digital rights of the film. The dubbing and satellite rights fetched another Rs 15 crores and the film made a business of around Rs 46 crores.

The production, and other miscellaneous expenses are said to have costed around Rs 35 crores.

If this math is to go by, Dil Raju made a sizeable profit of Rs 10-11 crores with V and that is a very impressive number.

Had the film released in theaters, Dil Raju would not have seen such highly impressive revenues, given the weak word of mouth it had garnered.
