Ever since Baahubali 2 became the highest grosser in Bollywood with its Hindi version, many Bollywood makers are constantly trying to beat that record. With 1700+ crores gross from all Indian languages with 510 crores nett from Hindi version alone, surely that is a tough record to crack.
After trying their luck with movies like Padmaavat and Thugs Of Hindostan, many felt that Bollywood will be remixing vintage dramas with palatial set designs to woo audiences big time. And a film that has come on that lines is none other than Karan Johar’s high budgeted production venture Kalank. The film hardly collected 80 crores nett, however, just recovering the 40 crores publicity cost.
In the wake of even Kalank failing to beat Baahubali, Bollywood has to rethink about bigger set properties and visual effects, in order to beat Baahubali. First of all, they need to have super content first. Rather aiming at Baahubali, if they aim at super content, sometimes luck and hype will add to it, to make that film a bigger hit.
