At a time when AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is projecting the state as the most progressive state in the country, Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan is politicising everything without giving two hoots about his responsibility as a leader of political party. One such incident that Pawan highlighted was about how the road near Polavaram caved in, due to rock explosions carried out in the vicinity.
This caught the attention of the Jana Sena Chief who tweeted a video and said: “I hope Hon. CM Sri. CBN garu’s real time governance has noticed how a road of one kilometre near Polavaram Project had split as if some earthquake occurred. Please give a clarity to people why it happened.”
In this jibe against Chandrababu, Pawan mocked his real-time governance. However, TDP supporters and followers were quick to clarify to Pawan that the road was re-built in 4 hours. While the government issued a clarification that there no reason to panic, Pawan’s tweet mentioned “earthquake” which has mislead a lot of people into believing that the Polavaram project is being constructed in an “unsafe zone.”
Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu tweeted a clarification stating: “The road caved in because of lack of moisture content in the soil in the region. Officials have investigated and have clarified that there is no need to panic. The region is safe from earthquakes.”
It is important for Pawan and his followers to understand that the area where the cracks developed comes under Zone 2 in the categories of zones in safety manual. Zone 2 is considered as one of the safest zones in India, according to the book “Fundamentals of Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering.” May be, Pawan could read that book too since he is fond of reading!
