Where both the Congress and the BJP are enticing him with plum offers, former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Neelakatham Raghuveera Reddy seems to prefer anonymity and spirituality. The former PCC chief is actually in an ashramam called Kanva Ashramam in the forest retreat of Penchalakona in Nellore district.
And what is Raghuveera doing in the Kanva Ashramam? He is doing yoga and cleaning drains in the ashramam. He himself posted a video clip from Kanva Ashramam where he is seen clearing drains with bare hands. Raghuveera learnt Yoga in the ashramam under two gurus. He underwent the daily rigours as part of the Sahaja Yoga.
Raghuveera, who was the APCC chief from 2014 till 2019, has taken a sabbatical from politics and remained confined to his home village of Neelakanthapuram in Anantapur district. He is currently involved in renovating the village temples. He has taken personal interest in the renovation of the temple in the village and attended all the rituals with utmost sincerity.
Despite invitations from various parties like the YSRCP, Congress and the BJP to rejoin the politics, Raghuveera has been steadfastly declining the offers. He is now appears fully devoted to spiritual pursuits. However, he is meeting several politicians these days. Recently, he met JC brothers and some leaders from the Congress Party.
