Ex-Andhra CJ to create new troubles for CM Jagan?

It is a known fact that the YSRCP government had faced many unfavourable decisions from Andhra Pradesh High Court when J K Maheshwari was the Chief Justice.

Back then, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had even complained to former Chief Justice of India S A Bobde against Justice Maheshwari, alleging that the latter was acting biased and following the suggestions of SC judge N. V. Ramana.

However, now J K Maheshwari is all set to be elevated as Supreme Court judge. The apex court collegium has recommended the names of four Chief Justices of High Courts and a practising senior lawyer of Supreme Court for elevation as judges of the top court.

The collegium has recommended the elevation of the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court A.S. Oka, Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Vikram Nath, Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court J.K. Maheshwari, and Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Hima Kohli.
