Remember former IAS officer RS Praveen Kumar? This high-profile officer, who carved a niche for himself by promoting education and competitive spirit among the Dalit boys and girls, is now in a political avatar. Till now, he was the chief coordinator of the Bahujan Samaj Party in Telangana. But now, he has been appointed the state president of the party.
On Thursday, Praveen Kumar is leaving for Lucknow on Thursday to meet BSP supremo Bahen Ji Mayawati to receive the appointment letter. He would return to Hyderabad on Friday. The BSP workers and Praveen Kumar’s fans are making efforts to give him a tumultuous welcome on his return from Lucknow.
As an IPS officer incharge of the social welfare gurukuls, Praveen Kumar created many records and won many admirers. He not only improved the academic standards of the SC gurukuls, but also encouraged the students to dream big and achieve bigger things. However, he differed with the KCR government and took voluntary retirement. Later, he joined the BSP and was appointed as its state coordinator. Now his role in the party is formalised with his appointment as the president of the state unit.
