Famous South Actress Joins BJP

While Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have announced their political entry in Tamil Nadu with their own parties, Bharatiya Janata Party is putting efforts to make inroads into the state by attracting some noted film actors. After the demise of Jayalalithaa, AIADMK has been losing several leaders and film actors who were aligned to the party.

On Saturday, popular Tamil actress Namitha, who’s accompanied by her husband Veerendra Chowdary, has joined BJP in presence of its party working president JP Nadda in Chennai.

Namitha, who got introduced to Telugu audiences with Venkatesh starrer ‘Gemini’, has went to entertain us with ‘Sontham’, ‘Billa’ and ‘Simha’. Earlier this year, the former beauty pageant featured in a Tamil horror comedy ‘Pottu’.

Besides Namitha, Tamil television actor Radha Ravi too switched his loyalties from AIADMK to BJP in presence of Nadda. The 67-year old actor was at the receiving end for making derogatory comments against Lady Superstar Nayanathara.
