In most of the western countries, charities are often done in secret, as most people love to keep the excess food or charity food on the streets but not directly giving to anyone or posing with them for pictures.
In India, the converse of it is true most of the times as the donation givers always want that photo moment. But then, it’s the ‘donation’ we actually look into, so no worries there.
Here come fans of the star heroes who are actually taking to roads in these tough COVID-19 outbreak times in order to donate food and other essentials to the poor.
No doubt they are doing a good job by helping the needy in this crisis hour, as hundreds of people are looking at the sky every day in a hope that food will reach them somehow that day.
But then, what we could notice is that norms like wearing masks and social distancing are not even remotely followed by the fans of these heroes. They are busy flaunting the t-shirts they wear which have images of their favourite hero, and then busy getting the picture clicked.
Photo-op is fine, but the mega motive should be serving the poor and serving them clean food in a sanitised environment. That sanitisation comes through wearing masks, gloves and following social distancing as well.
Do the good thing, but do it in a careful way. Because these are the times where ‘prevention’ is not just better, but the only medicine that is available right now for Covid-19 outbreak.
