For a change, hardcore rightist party Shiv Sena has supported Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan much to the shocker of many. At a time when SRK is facing the heat for his remarks on ‘extreme intolerance’ in India by several leaders from BJP, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut stated that SRK shouldn’t be targeted only because he is Muslim.
He added that minority community in India is tolerant. “This country is tolerant and the Muslims are tolerant as well. Shah Rukh Khan should not be targeted only because he is a Muslim,” said Sanjay. However, Sanjay stated that Shah Rukh is a superstar only because India is tolerant.
“Shah Rukh Khan is a superstar only because the country is tolerant and has never thought in the name of religion,” he added. Countering BJP leader Vijayvargiya’s comments on SRK, Sanjay asked the BJP general secretary not to bring Pakistan into this debate on tolerance, saying that it is India’s internal matter.
