Rashtriya Lok Dal president and former Union minister Ajit Singh died due to Covid on Thursday morning. His son Jayant Chaudhary took it to Twitter to confirm the same.
Ajit Singh, 82, was diagnosed with Covid on 20th of April and he was receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Gurugram for the past few days. He sadly succumbed to the virus earlier today.
The RLD chief was one of the senior most politicians in the country and the prime minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on the demise of the former. “ The death of former Union Minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh ji is extremely sad. He was always devoted to the interests of the farmers. He efficiently discharged the responsibilities of several departments at the center. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of mourning. om Shanti!,” Modi tweeted.
“He battled with the condition till the very end and breathed his last today morning,” Ajit’s son Jayant tweeted.
