Soon after the floods broke out and immersed the entire city of Chennai, one actor caught everyone’s attention for his relentless efforts in saving thousands of people from the flood waters and also for offering them food, blankets and other basic daily supplies to the flood victims. The actor in question is Siddharth.
Incidentally, Siddharth himself was a victim of the floods as his home too was flooded with rain waters. Siddharth even posted a couple of pictures of his flooded bathroom on Twitter and saying if he as an affluent actor is going through this, one can imagine the situation about the rest of the people in the city.
Speaking to a national media house, Siddharth said he had “freaked out” after losing his home “for the first time in life… three studio, three cars… And then I felt bad for the middle class who lost so much in just one day”. Siddharth also said he has not gone to his home for the last six days because of the deluge.
Lauding the social media’s role in the relief operations, Siddharth said for the first time, there have been more volunteers for the relief operations than the victims. Siddharth also reiterated that the people will now need their livelihood back with their lost and damaged homes being rebuilt.
