As there seems to be no change in Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s resignation to TDP and Gannavram MLA seat as he is all set to join YCP, the by-election in Gannavaram looks imminent. With this, the interesting debate over Gannavaram by-poll has already began.
It is buzzed that Nara Lokesh from TDP who had lost in Mangalagiri could be in fray for Gannavaram. On the other hand, it is rumoured that who would be in contest from Janasena Party. As Pawan Kalyan had lost in both Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram Assembly constituencies, Janasena leaders want him to contest from Gannavaram seat. Also, it is interesting to see whether TDP and Janasena would contest with an understanding in order to face the ruling YCP candidate Yarlagadda Venkat Rao who had lost in the hands of Vamsi with meager margin of 838 votes. In 2019 election, 1,03,881 votes (47.07 percent) were polled for TDP’s Vallabhaneni Vamsi whereas 1,03,043 votes (46.69 percent) were polled for YCP’s Yarlagadda.
It needs to be seen what is TDP’s plan-B as Gannavaram has been TDP’s bastion. Will TDP and Janasena contest with coalition in by-poll? As TDP announced support to Pawan Kalyan’s Sand March in Vizag today, the friendship between TDP and Janasena is growing again. Let’s wait and see, what is in store for Gannavaram.
