Good Film Got Lost In The Mix!

A lot of people don’t even know that a film named ‘Nayakudu’ got released last Friday. This was a Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil hit film ‘Maamannan’. The movie is a political thriller laced around the concept of caste and oppression. Asian Cinemas and Suresh Babu have released this film in Telugu states but the lack of promotions made the film irrelevant. The first day collections were so poor despite having noted artists like legendary Vadivelu, ‘Pushpa’ villain and famous Malayalam hero Fahadh Fasil, star heroine Keerthy Suresh and Udayanidhi Stalin.

The music was given by AR Rahman but the music was not released online. ‘Nayakudu’ had no way to reach the people before the release. On top of that, the makers have sold the film to Netflix and it is getting premiered in languages from 27th July. The official announcement arrived too. People like Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan praised this movie but the lack of proper promotions made the film a failure in Telugu.

Even Siva Karthikeyan’s ‘Mahaveerudu’ too failed to become a hit in Telugu states despite having a decent content. People are not showing interest in seeing these dubbing films as they are realizing that they will soon be premiered on OTT platforms in all languages or with subtitles. At a time when big flicks like ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ are failing to entertain the audience, releasing dubbing films with zero promotions seems to be a very bad strategy.
