Gunasekhar took a big risk last year with Rudhrama Devi. At the very crucial point of his career, Guna not only attempted a risky subject but also produced it himself. Luckily, the movie being a historical film, performed better than talk.
But due to the high costs involved, the movie only became an ‘above average’ venture. Guna at the end credits of Rudhrama Devi, announced that he will be doing Prathapa Rudhrudu next as the sequel of the film. Many thought Prathapa Rudhrudu will not happen. But Guna made it happen.
He started the pre-production work of the film and is currently working on historical research over Prathapa Rudhrudu character. Guna will once again produce the film on his Gunaa Film Works Banner. Once the story is complete, finalizing the cast will be a major challenge.
