The political heat in Maharashtra at once as a lot of things are happening in the state over playing Hanuman Chalisa. When Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena were locking horns over Hanuman Chalisa, an MP surprised everyone by giving a call to recite Hanuman Chalisa outside CM’s residence.
Actress-turned-politician Navneet Kaur Rana, who is an MP, and her husband, Ravi Rana, an MLA gave the call. Following this, they were arrested by the cops in Maharashtra. Though the cops tried to take the couple into custody, the court said no to this and sent them to the judicial remand.
Serious sections like sedition and others were slapped against the couple reportedly. Alleging that citing Hanuman Chalisa might send wrong intentions to the public and create communal clashes, they were arrested by the cops.
However, the couple alleged that they were arrested without proper reason and asked how it was wrong to recite Hanuman Chalisa. Smelling a conspiracy to arrest them, the couple said that they will fight for their rights.
Lawyers representing the couple already filed a petition in the court and the petition is expected to be heard later this week. The couple is hoping that they might get a big relief in the issue.
