Other days’ release “DJ Duvvada Jagannadham” has received a bag of mixed reviews from all quarters. Though some of the normal public is enjoying the fun factor in the movie, many review writers blasted the film for lack of a fresh story or concept. What has director Harish Shankar to say about this?
“There is no co-relation between Reviews, Ratings and Revenues these days. If you could notice, the websites that gave lowest ratings to DJ Duvvada Jagannadham had given similar ratings to other industry hits and blockbusters. So, ratings don’t define revenues at the box office” says Harish.
He further elaborated, “For example, if we take Dil Raju’s Satamanam Bhavati, the film got below-average ratings, but upon made with 10 crores budget it collected 40 crores. And the same film which didn’t interested reviewers has impressed the jury of National Awards of won the award”. He stated that there is no wrong in reviewing and rating a movie but urged everyone to see that as an individual opinion or just opinion of a couple of guys. “Ratings must not be given a universal status as that is purely based on the individual taste of review writers”.
At the same time, Harish voiced that DJ Duvvada Jaganandham openings are the highest in the career of Bunny and also stressed that the film would be highest grosser in the hero’s career. Producer Dil Raju seconded Harish’s opinion!!
