High Court Dismisses SEC’s Orders To Confine Minister To His Home

YSRCP leader, Andhra Pradesh minister for Panchayat Raj and rural development Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy landed in an unwanted controversy for reportedly making inciting utterances against the employees involved in Panchayat elections.

Andhra Pradesh’s State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar took a serious note of this and directed the AP Director-General of Police to confine the minister to his residence till the completion of gram panchayat elections

The ruling party Minister has knocked on the doors of the Andhra Pradesh High Court challenging the SEC’d orders by filing a House Motion Petition. The High Court heard the petition today.

After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the High Court dismissed the orders issued by the SEC to confine the Minister to his residence till the Local Body Polls are held.

However, the High Court is satisfied with SEC’s orders to the Minister to not speak to the media toil the polls are held. The Court directed the Minister to not talk about any issues related to Polls to the media.

In its orders, the High Court permitted the Minister to visit the temple city Tirupati to welcome the Honorable President Ram Nath Kovind, who will visit the city to offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara.
