Hollywood Biggies Wreaking Havoc At Indian Box Office!

In the last few months, there were no big releases in India. Some of the crazy projects bombed at the box office and all the audience were left with are some medium-range films that did decently. As we all know, Bollywood films are not getting huge openings and first week collections these days. Even big stars are failing to get success in recent times.

At this juncture of time, three Hollywood flicks arrived this month and created havoc at the Indian box office. Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1’ came out on 12th July and got a phenomenal response. On 21st July, two biggies like ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ arrived in theatres. People were excited to see it in theatres and the collections were fantastic. In the first week, both the movies collectively got 100.6 crores nett in India.

While Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ got 73.15 crores in 7 days, Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ got 27.5 crores at the same time. These are huge numbers as they are not some superhero action flicks that attract everyone. ‘Oppenheimer’ shows the life of the scientist who made the nuclear bomb while ‘Barbie’ is an entertainer. This shows how excited the audience are at watching Hollywood movies in theatres.

‘Oppenheimer’ has Cillian Murphy playing the title role while Rober Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and others play key roles. On the other hand, Margot Robbie played the title role in ‘Barbie’ while Ryan Gosling essayed the role of Ken in the movie.
