The Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who often makes headlines with his controversial remarks on various issues, is back in news once again. Speaking about the Badaun rape case, Mulayam said that the issue has been blown out of proportion by political leaders, even though the CBI enquiry said that no rape was committed.
Lashing out at his detractors, the SP Chief said that some rapes are given gang rape twist. “How can four brothers rape a girl at once? It isn’t practically possible,” said the senior leader. Mulayam further said that there were cases where when one person committed rape, the victim lodged a complaint on four people to take revenge. “Innocents must not be harassed and implicated,” he added.
The controversial leader further said the number of rape cases in UP is lowest compared to the BJP governed states. UP rate of rape cases is only 2% compared to that of 9% in Madhya Pradesh and 7% in Rajasthan. “The situation is even worse in New Delhi,” concluded Mulayam. Meanwhile, the senior leader’s comments have irked many people across the country.
