Though the pro-TRS media is trying hard to spread stories about KCR’s meeting with PM Modi and others in Delhi to create confusion among the BJP cadre and leaders, the BJP sources have another take on the issue. They say that KCR’s whole game plan has flopped by some deft moves by Modi, Shah and the other BJP leaders. KCR wanted to go to Delhi and make a show of trying to seek an appointment with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. He reportedly expected that these leaders would not give him an appointment. So, he can always raise the issue of the BJP government denying him an appointment even while giving time to Jagan Mohan Reddy. If gets an appointment, he can always claim that the Centre has praised his developmental and welfare initiaitives.
But Modi foiled his gameplan throough mercurial moves. He gave him an appointment immediately and released the photos of the meeting, which showed KCR looking very submissive. This gave KCR no opportunity whatsoever to peddle his narrative. All his plans of raising anti-Delhi sentiment had to be given up. Also the released photos did now give indication of Modi praising him. Modi looked quite serious and sullen while KCR looked effusively submissive.
To add to KCR’s woes, soon after KCR left New Delhi, the Central Government released a statement asking the Telugu states to stop the work on irrigation projects on Godavari and Krishna rivers. This was a huge setback to KCR. The projects in question included Kaleshwaram project too.
