Prabhas’ action saga ‘Salaar: Ceasefire 1’ was released on 22nd December to packed crowds and got a positive response from the audience. The collections are phenomenal as it minted 402 crores in three days. It is setting records and fans are happy to see their hero get his groove back. They are eagerly waiting for the second part which is yet to start rolling.
While people are enjoying the success, there are a few who constantly keep comparing ‘Salaar’ to Neel’s first film ‘Ugramm’. They claim that he copied his own film and made it on a larger scale this time. While the similarities are undeniable, one have to understand that Prasanth Neel himself claimed that he wanted to tell the same story on a grand scale this time as ‘Ugramm’ did not do well commercially. So, it is not a copy as many suggest.
The basic backdrop is entirely different but the similarity can be seen in the plotline where two friends who can do anything for each other and the hero living in exile in an unknown village while the heroine arrives from a foreign and immediately faces a death threat. While ‘Ugramm’ is about the underworld, Prasanth Neel has let his imagination go wild and created a fictional area named ‘Khansaar’. The history of this city and the tribes fighting for power gave a new dimension to this film.
It looks like Prasanth Neel decided to take the basic storyline of ‘Ugramm’ and a few scenes from it and set in on a grand scale along with setting it in a fictional city named Khansaar. This made for a dramatic visual spectacle and fans are loving this film. Let us see what he offers in the second part.
