The pearl city of Hyderabad has a rich legacy. It was one of the princely states in the country and the Indian government almost got ready to wage a big war to make the state a part of the country. We can still find a few old and heritage structures in the city.
In the current era, Hyderabad is among the metropolitan cities in the country and it competes with other big cities on many parameters. Now the capital city of Telangana got a place in the list of costliest cities in the world. The list was prepared after surveying over 200 cities in the world.
Mercer’s 2023 Cost of Living survey said that Mumbai is the costliest city in India followed by National capital Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, and Hyderabad. Globally Mumbai bagged the 147th spot, while New Delhi at 169, Chennai (184), Bengaluru (189), Hyderabad (202), Kolkata (211), and Pune (213) also featured on the list.
While preparing the list, parameters like Accommodation, transport facilities, food, clothing, household appliances, and entertainment were considered. Looking at the global list, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Zurich are the most expensive cities for international employees.
The list was prepared to see what the employees think about the cities and which cities are the costliest and which cities are the cheapest. The report also said that aspects like inflation, and currency changes played a big role in the cities getting the spots in the list.
