Notwithstanding the statement of Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on strengthening ‘Modi-Chandrababu Jodi,’ Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh are targeting the Telugu Desam Party with an eye on power in the next elections. It was pretty evident from the statements made by newly-joined BJP leaders including Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Kanna Lakshminarayana and Daggubati Purandeshwari against the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh in the recent past.
They have warned Naidu against making any attempts to weaken the BJP In AP. They have been attacking Naidu for growing corruption in administration and his aggressive approach in pooling land for the new capital Amaravati. The senior leaders expressed view that the Naidu government had done a lot of injustice to the BJP in the appointments for Janmabhoomi committees in the State. “Apparently, the TDP government is ignoring the BJP.
The benefits of the scheme are not reaching the eligible poor and the targeted sections and this is not good either for the BJP or for the TDP,” they said. The Government should act keeping in view the welfare of the people but not political gains, they stated. All the BJP leaders were unanimous in their opinion that some TDP leaders in the State are minting crores of money with smuggling of sand and red sanders.
