Hero Allari Naresh celebrates his birthday on Tuesday (June 30th).
Here are excerpts from his interview where he shared many interesting aspects about his current and future projects:
How are you spending time in lockdown?
I’m hardly going out since March. I’m spending all the time with my kid. But, online classes somehow are turning big headache for us.
How will you be spending this birthday?
In my 18 years of career, I was on sets most of the times. It indeed has turned a sentiment for me. It’s a quiet birthday this time.
What is Naandhi all about?
It’s a raw and rustic thriller. The investigation process is shown in realistic manner. There might be many investigation thrillers. But, Naandhi has a unique point. Lots of research was underwent to pen the script. The film is actually about what circumstances an innocent prisoner goes through.
Why did you go naked for the film?
We wanted audience to let know the genre of the film. So, we released posters of me unclothed. When I’m doing out of the box, it has to look something different. All the scenes in posters will be there in film.
Why did you take the risk to do a serious and concept based film with a debutante?
Vijay Kanakamedala has been in the industry for long. He had worked in direction department with Harish Shankar and as an editor, he did lots of films. Actually, he has taken me by surprise. After Maharshi, he came and told me one thing that people are ready to accept me in other than comedy roles. Both my director and producer believed that, I can pull off the role efficiently.
How’s the film shaped up so far?
Already 80% of the film is done, except for a song and five days of patch work. I’ve watched rushes and am happy with the outcome. We have also completed dubbing work.
What is the status of Bangaru Bullodu?
The film’s production and post-production works were wrapped up and it was planned for summer release. But, due to lockdown, it got postponed. I’m hoping to have 2 releases in 2020.
Tell us about your next projects?
I didn’t officially sign any new film, but lined up few interesting projects. I’m also writing a script based on corona. How the pandemic affected lives of the people will be shown in a comic way. I just wrote a line and has plans to develop it with a team of writers. If things go well, it may go on floors early next year.
Will you be directing the film?
No way. Though I have plans of venturing into direction, it may not happen in near future. More importantly, I will not star in my directorial ventures.
