According to data produced by Yi Fuxian, a researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, China has been exaggerating its population number for all these years.

Currently, China’s official population is estimated at 1.38 billion (at the end of 2016). If his figures are right, then the actual population of China was only 1.29 billion. So Yi says India is the most populous country in the world, which is something expected to happen over the next few years probably by 2022. So, according to the scholar, China has been cheating the world with false population figures all these years.
We all aware of the fact that China abandoned its ‘one-child’ policy last year and allowed couples to have two children. As China, gravely need more births to substitute ageing workforce, it has been overstating its population.
