Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the World Economic Forum’s online Davos Agenda Summit on Thursday. He showered praises on the way India fought the Coronavirus.
During the initial days of Coronavirus, India faced some problems. Many experts and organizations predicted that India might become the worst affected nation with Covid-19. Some experts even claimed that India could have 700-800 million infections and more than two million Covid-19 fatalities.
“When the developed countries with the latest medical equipment and facilities failed to tackle the situation, the world expressed its concerns about India,” Modi said.However, India fared well in tackling the situation. We developed a health infrastructure to fight the pandemic, the PM said.
Indian has also helped other nations with the two vaccines developed in the country. The vaccines have been supplied to more than 150 countries. More Made in India vaccines would come.
“India launched the world’s largest vaccination drive. In just 12 days, more than 2.3 million healthcare workers were vaccinated. In the next few months, 300 million elderly people and people with comorbidities would be vaccinated,” Modi said.”India showed the world how immunity could be improved with traditional medicine. We(India) are sending the vaccines to many nations. India is also helping other nations in developing vaccination,” he added.
