When YS Jagan Mohan Reddy founded the YSR Congress party, in the 2014 elections, it also contested in Telangana along with AP. Along with the Khammam MP seat, they won three assembly seats as well. Later, Telangana was ignored as the party had to focus on AP. With that, YCP MP and MLAs joined the TRS.
Now, it is learned that Jagan has again focused on party activities in Telangana as he came to power in the AP with an overwhelming majority in the previous elections. Of course, this is definitely the right time for him to grab the opportunity.
At the same time, Jagan opines that there was a big rift between the ruling and opposition parties in Telangana politically. The Congress and the TDP went unnoticed in the state due to repeated blows from TRS. The BJP is slowly recovering at a time when everyone thinks no political party has the muscle to hit the TRS. Jagan thinks that if he enters now, he will be able to grow stronger than the BJP.
There is an equation for his analysis. Most of Telangana reddys like Jagan and they may support him irrespective of their previous stand. Jagan thought that the BJP was ideologically a religious party and there was enough space in Telangana for a third party to emerge. Hence the information that Jagan thinks it would be good if he reactivates the party now.
YSRCP fans are expected to be there in large numbers in most districts except for one or two. With the collapse of the Congress party, Reddy community was left without a proper leader and hence the interest. Jagan also received reports that his schemes in the AP had impressed the poor in Telangana. So it seems that Jagan is thinking that the resurgence of YCP in Telangana will not be a big deal if he can impress the BCs, SCs and STs who are high numbers in Telangana along with the Reddys.
The YCP hopes that the YCP will be a strong platform for many who are dormant all these days being unable to stay in the Congress and to join the BJP as well. So it was learned through party sources that Jagan is likely to make a sensational announcement soon. Until Sankranti, everything will remain as a mere speculation.
