‘Insulted’ Ponnala Cries on Road

Telangana PCC chief and former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah was reportedly offended by police when he, his collegaues and several other Congress activists were staging protest against Yerragadda Chest Hospital for its shifting.
Protesting Telangana government’s order to move Chest hospital to another place and plan to build new Secretariat in its existing place, Congress leaders have been agitating against it. Acting on them, police personnel said to have “manhandled” few of them in an attempt them to bring down their protest.
This further draw flak from Congress leaders. PCC chief Ponnala sat on the road and seen crying over cops and government’s behaviour. Although several senior leaders tried to pacify Ponnala, he was no mood to budge. Even ex PCC chief like D Srinivas expressed displeasure over government’s attitude.
“Telangana state became reality not just because of one person’s effort. All people of Telangana fought for it and Sonia Gandhi made it happen. We’ve been asking government to look upon other important things and address public issues on urgent basis rather than focusing on shifting secretariat.”
