It seems the Jana Sena of Pawan Kalyan is out of touch with reality. The party, which is contesting the elections in Telagnana for the first ever time, doesn’t seem to realize that it does not have a dedicated election symbol of its own. Though it has lost the ‘glass’ symbol, it still continues to ask the voters to vote for ‘glass’ symbol.
Initially, the party was allocated the glass symbol in 2019 elections. But, to have a dedicated symbol, a party has to win certain percentage of votes. The Jana Sena, which contested the 2019 elections had won just one MLA seat and less than the mandatory per cent of votes. As a result, the Election Commission has denotified ‘glass’ symbol. This means, the party no longer can claim this symbol as its own. The party did not contest in the Tirupati bypolls too and had extended its support to the BJP. Even otherwise, the party is not recognized in Telangana.
The party in association with the BjP has put up some candidates in Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation. The central leadership of the party has through Twitter asked the people to vote for the ‘Glass’ symbol. The fact is, the party no longer has the symbol. This shows the state of affairs in Jana Sena.
