Until few years ago, Tollywood used to be fully dependent on other industry technicians, especially on Kollywood in the departments such as choreography, fights. Tollywood was partially dependent on other technical departments such as cinematography, set designing, editing and other. Tamil music directors Ilayaraja and AR Rahman dominated South film industry for ages. In fact, Telugu star heroes accustomed to work with Tamil directors such as Mani Ratnam, AR Murugadoss, Karunakaran, SJ Surya etc. But, the scenario has been completely upturned.
Current young heroes are keen on working with only Telugu directors. Choreographers count has also been increased in our industry, thanks to TV reality shows. Now we have ace choreographers like Johnny, Sekhar, Ganesh masters etc. Telugu leading dancing stars Ram Charan, NTR and Allu Arjun are fancying for these star choreographers for their films.
In music department, youngsters like Devi Sri Prasad, SS Thaman, Anup etc are rocking the industry. Coming to action department, Ram Lakshman duo is ruling the roost in Tollywood. They are part of most of the star hero films of late. In editing department, we have experts like Kotagiti, Marthand etc. So, Tollywood is gradually becoming independent in all the departments!
