Undeterred by the strong retort from the Andhra Pradesh IAS Officers Association, Vijay Sai Reddy, YSR Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha MP and A-2 in CBI cases in connection with Jagan’s quid pro quo cases, has today (Feb 22, 2018) reiterated that four IAS, IPS officers in the current government are “helping” the TDP in the “defections”. He alleged that the civil servants are “luring” YSRCP MLAs into TDP and serving to the “personal interests” of CM Chandrababu Naidu. This is a serious and grave allegation from Opposition party on the Centre-caded IAS, IPS officers.
Earlier, Vijay Sai Reddy had alleged that the Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, IAS officer Rajamouli, IPS Officer AB Venkateswara Rao and one other have been involved in “corruption” and facilitating the “cross over” of YSRCP MLAs into TDP.
Disagreeing to retract his previous remarks, Vijay Sai Reddy claimed that he has “evidences” about the senior IAS, IPS officers involving in “influencing” his party MLAs. He said, “I reiterate that four officials are blatantly violating civil services conduct rule under which they are bound by Constitution. They are working for the personal interests of the Chief Minister and not for the public.”
Earlier, the association has taken strong exception to the “threats” made by Vijay Sai Reddy. “Such threats of vindictive action against a civil servant is deplorable and the Association appeals to all political parties to desist from such irresponsible behavior in demoralising civil service which is entrusted with accomplishment of challenging tasks,” the Association said in its previous statement.
The Association is yet to respond on the fresh comments of Vijay Sai Reddy. Looks like, the IAS officers are likely to take up the issue much seriously and going by the present situation, a legal action against Reddy seems to be imminent. However, undettered Reddy says that he is ready for any sort of “legal battle”.
