Jagan to meet Modi again: What’s up?

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to New Delhi on Friday, for the second time within a week, raising curiosity in the media circles.

According to sources, Jagan will be on a two-day tour to Delhi on Friday.

He is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi either on Friday evening or Saturday morning, depending on the availability of PM’s appointment.

The chief minister already had a one-and-a-half hours meeting PM on October 5 and discussed various issues, apart from submitting a lengthy wish list seeking more than Rs 80,000 crore. He quickly returned to Vijayawada soon after the meeting.

This time, he will have another round of meeting and might once again request Modi to come to Nellore to launch the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme.

He is also place a request for immediate financial assistance in view of the financial crisis in the state, sources said.

Last time, Jagan wanted to meet Home Minister and BJP national president Amit Shah, but he could not due to paucity of time. This time, he may meet Shah and also Union finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman.

At the same time, the chief minister also might meet Union water resources minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat and clarify on the Polavaram issue.

“In any case, there is definitely something more to Jagan’s meeting with PM twice within a week than what meets the eye,” sources said.
