When news of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy meeting with AP cadre IAS officer Amrapali Kata at her residence on Tuesday morning got out, it caused a big political stir in the Andhra Pradesh political circles, given that the IAS cadre is much lower than the CM cadre. As a result, everyone started wondering why Jagan had to go to Amrapali’s house to meet her.
Amrapali is a Reddy from Visakhapatnam, which added fuel to fire. It is not being said that Jagan met with Amrapali unexpectedly when she was in the Prime Minister’s office and Jagan reportedly gave her some documents for the PMO. It also emerged that earlier, a senior officer from the AP government, Praveen Prakash, had met Amrapali and had even posted a selfie with her. The PMO is said to be upset with this, as the PMO is not interested in its IAS officers coming to the limelight, and much prefer them being behind the scenes.
On the other hand, it is already known that Amrapali worked as the collector of the Warangal district, where she was immensely famous. She was so famous that Ganesh pandals on her name were set up in the district. Amrapali became famous for her eco-tours in deep forests with other IAS officers, where she went without any security cover. She was also known as a daring and dashing official.
