As Nandyal by-election result is only two more days away from now, both TDP and YSRCP have been busy making calculations, predictions on the number of votes polled in their favour. With several exit polls – including Lagadapati’s survey and Jagan’s own survey – indicating that the wave is towards TDP, insiders have it that Jagan is getting ready for his ‘failure speech’.
Reportedly, Prashant Kishore too more or less confirmed YSRCP’s failure in the by-poll and this said to have upset Jagan deeply given that he campaigned for over 10 days alone in Nandyal constituency by conducting road shows and public meetings. Jagan has asked many of his leaders in Nandyal to submit village-wise reports on the Nandyal by-poll and even these said to have confirmed TDP’s victory. With this, Jagan Reddy is reportedly working on his failure speech.
In his failure speech, Jagan wants to blame ‘ruling’ TDP on ‘manipulations’ and ‘flouting’ rules and Naidu’s announcements of sops as the reasons for his loss in the election. Also, Jagan would be announcing that he would clinch power in 2019 general elections.
Interestingly, Prashant Kishore said to have made a few suggestions to Jagan on the counter-allegations and have asked him to focus on ‘pro-people’ agenda instead of cornering government. But it is not known whether Jagan would follow Prashant’s advises or not.
The counting and results would be out on August 28. Special forces have been deployed since it is a sensitive election between TDP and YSRCP facilitated in special condition of passing away of the sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
