Jagan Sought Centre’s Help To Address Pending Issues?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy went to the national capital Delhi the other day without any prior intimation. His sudden Delhi visit sparked a debate on what made the Chief Minister go to Delhi. Even when the Assembly sessions were going on, the Andhra CM left for Delhi.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is said that he discussed the pending issues with him during the meeting. The pending issues include the bifurcation promises and the funds that are pending for quite some time.

It’s been around nine years since the state was bifurcated. However, the issues between the states are yet to be addressed. No matter which party is in power the issues are not cleared. Booth TDP and YCP are supportive of the Centre. However, this did not help the state.

Andhra Pradesh’s financial situation is not that great and the state is going into debts. After warning the state of taking big borrowings, the Centre imposed a cap on the borrowings. Jagan is believed to have requested Modi to remove the limit of the borrowings.

The Polavaram project is facing some issues as relocated people are yet to be given compensation. On top of this, a few people in the state are said to have missed a few Centre-backed schemes and Jagan asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter.

After Modi’s meeting, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would meet the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. However, there is no clarity on what issues Jagan and Amit Shah would discuss.
