Jagan to set up 16 health hubs in AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that he plans on setting up 16 health hubs in the state, spread across various cities in the state, like Vijayawada, Tirupati, Rajahmundry etc.

Officials have been directed to bring up the necessary policies for these hubs, and he has asked the officials to acquire at least 30 acres of land in each of these 16 hubs. Five acres of land is expected to be allotted to each private hospital, in each of these 16 health hubs, for the establishment of super speciality and multispecialty hospitals.

He said that nearly 100 Crores would be invested for these hospitals in the next three years, and if everything goes according to plan, then AP would have nearly 80 super specialty and multispecialty hospitals.

Jagan also said that it is because of the neglect of the previous governments that the people of Andhra Pradesh are now going to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and other places to get treated for various illnesses.

He said that this will not be the case in the coming years, and said that the health sector in AP will be made much better in the coming years.
