Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has written yet another letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, as his government continues to face severe criticism on the shortage of oxygen, hospital beds and vaccines in the state.
In this letter, Jagan targetted Bharat Biotech and said that the company has to transfer its technology to other companies so that more vaccines could be manufactured, which would then cure the country’s problem of vaccine shortage.
Several YSRCP members and CM’s Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy have already said that Bharat Biotech is not providing vaccines to Andhra Pradesh, and have asked Telugu Desam Party Chief Chandrababu Naidu to speak with the officials of Bharat Biotech and procure vaccines for the state, as they belong to the same caste.
On the other hand, Chandrababu reminded the YSRCP government that the Centre had given every state permission to buy vaccines from Bharat Biotech and that the AP government should do the same as well. Of course, the AP government has its own obvious reasons for not buying vaccines. In his letter, Jagan also mentioned that the National Institute of Virology and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have extended help to AP, in the process of procuring vaccines, according to the state’s demands.
