The speed at which Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been implementing his poll promises seem to be unmatchable in the entire country.
Normally, any government is elected to power in the country for a period of five years. This means that any government has a time of five years to implement poll promises.
However, most of the governments in the country try to implement their poll promises towards the end of their five-year term with an eye on subsequent elections and to seek votes on the plank of fulfilling poll promises.
But AP CM YS Jagan has been adopting an entirely different path in delivering poll promises.
It’s just four months since Jagan became CM of AP with a thumping majority in May 2019 Assembly polls.
Within this short period, Jagan delivered most of his major poll promises like providing government jobs to 4 lakh unemployed youth, launching of village/ward secretariats, regulation of fees in private schools, 75 per cent jobs to locals in private industries, merger of APSRTC with state government, phased-wise ban on liquor etc.
Jagan has decided to deliver one of his major poll promise of YSR Rythu Bharosa on October 15, for which he is inviting Prime Ministe Narendra Modi.
Today, Jagan fulfilled yet another major poll promise of ‘vahana mitra scheme’ to provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to drivers running autos, cabs in AP. Jagan sanctioned Rs 400 crore for this scheme.
Jagan has launched the drive to identify beneficiaries for allotment of plots to all the homeless in AP very soon.
With this, Jagan will complete fulfilling all his major poll promises even before he completes one year in office in May 2020.
Telangana CM KCR on the other hand is sitting on all his major poll promises of Rs 1 lakh crop loan waiver scheme, enhancement of retirement age for government employees to 60 years, unemployment allowance of Rs 3,016 per month. reduction of age limit for Aasara pensioners to 57 years etc.
When Opposition parties are criticising him for non-fulfillment of poll promises even after nearing completion of one-year in office in December, KCR is attacking them saying, “Where is the hurry to implement poll promises. I have time till five years. I can implement poll promises any time in these five years.”
But Jagan on the other hand is delivering all his poll promises even before the completion of one year in office.
